**Mephisto Women's Comfortable Walking Sandals – Lightweight & Supportive for Travel, Beach, and Everyday Wear**

Great support and very comfortable! Leather squeaks when I walk. I’m hoping it will get better as the leather softens.I need a little more arch support but this brand is the best so far for meI've been wearing Mephisto sandals daily for at least 10 years. Every 2-3 years I buy a new pair in the same size 40EU/10US. I have now ordered within the past month 3 pairs of Mephisto cork bed comfort sandals, one from the manufacturer, this one from Amazon and another from a popular online shoe company that lets you log in and pay with your Amazon account. All three shoes were ordered in a size US 10. AND NONE OF THEM FIT. I went back to the manufacturer's site in the US and UK and using their provided foot chart and corresponding measurements a 40 or US 10 should fit me. I even measured my foot on paper like the UK site suggested and my size still came out to be a 40. Yet they are WAAAAY TOO NARROW AND SHORT IN LENGTH as my heel hangs off the back and around the sides of the heel cup and my toes at the front. If you're accustomed to wearing this sandal, and you like the fact that they were a little wider and longer for a proper fit as Mephisto brags, I would go up a whole size. As the company has narrowed and shortened the foot bed an entire size. The ones I tried all fit like a size 39EU/9US. I returned all theses shoes and now ordered this pair in a size 11. They should come marked with a 41 on the inside strap. If they don't fit...I'm going to cry.EDIT: The 41/US11 fits like the 40/US10 used to. These shoes are made to fit as pictured in my photo. They are meant to be a little larger so the shoe "cradles" your foot. I changed my review to 4 stars as I really love the Mephisto brand and quality. My recommendation would be to go up a whole size if you haven't bought a pair in the last 3 years as sometime during that period their foot bed has definitely changed!These sandals are extremely comfortable and are true to size. They provide excellent arch support.They fit the same as all the mephisto sandals I purchased in specialized stores inthe past. I have had serious bilateral Morton Neuroma pain for over 25 years. These Mephistos are the most comfortable footwear I have had to date.Mephisto sandals were recommended to me by my knee doctor years ago and I've been a believer ever since, "converting" many other Birkenstock fans to jump ship to this brand as well. I've worn them as "slippers" around the house and for short errands for years and really like them. This was the first pair for me in quite a while and it seems like they have gotten smaller than they were in the past. I returned two other pairs recently- both the 9 M and the 10 M. This 11 M pair is two sizes up from my normal size of 9 or 9 1/2. Note: the red Nubuck leave your feet and socks red within an hour- I returned them for size issues but the color leaking was another issue; hence my star review. Feel and comfort wise, these Dark brown ones are great and feel awesome. I will add another note: When I got my first pair of Mephisto sandals years ago, it took a full week for my arch to get used to them, but that just tells you that my arch was so weak. I hope these new ones are as good as my first Mephisto. It's worth trying. PS these do go on sale on amazon, and it's worth waiting for that. These brown ones were so reasonable as they were listed as "used." I normally never buy used shoes but with the discount and the amazon return policy, I figured it could not hurt. When the sandals arrived, they were actually brand new, at least there was no wear on them. Wow. They are a great sandal.Theses are very comfortable shoes, and have a stylish look. But be warned that they run about a size too small. I normally wear a size 40 (US size 10) in both Mephisto and Birkenstock. Initially I ordered my normal size, but I had to return them because of the strange sizing, the size 10 fit like a size 9. I ordered one size up to a size 41 (US size 11) and the fit was slightly large, but wearable. I love Mephisto shoes, but their sizing is very inconsistent. It’s a pain in the rear end to order your correct size and have to go through the extra work of returning the shoes because the manufacturer’s sizing is off.Spoke to the manager of the Mephisto of Scottsdale store and they were extremely helpful!! I needed information the sizing and availability of the sandals purchased and they could not have been more helpful or accommodating! Thank you3 years ago I purchased a pair of these Mephisto sandals at the store for much more $.... Though they are well worth it, so comfortable, wonderful arch support and great quality. My first pair is still like new, though I have been wearing it for 3 Springs & 2 summers so far.... loving them so much that I bought a second pair to use as indoors slippers/sandals. Highly recommend it. E' una vera ciabatta, scomoda e più brutta di come si vede nella foto. La suola inferiore è assolutamente rigida, come se fosse di legno e quella superiore che dovrebbe essere morbida e comoda è ugualmente rigida, inoltre ha una pianta larghissima.I have had this model of Mephisto before and always love them. The leather of the straps seems to be a bit thinner than my last pair and the shoes squeak when I walk. I spoke to a shoemaker about the squeak and was told it is because the leather is dry. If they don't improve with wearing I will buy some leather conditioner.
