I liked the boot but it runs very small. Unfortunately I had to return for a refund.I wear a 10.5 in athletic shoe, a 9 in regular flat shoes. Chose the 41 in this boot hoping for extra toe room. So glad I did. They are close to perfect with heavy socks - with room in the toebox to insert a 'toe-warmer' as well. I like the zipper along with laces for tightening around my ankles. Both my feet are compromised in different ways - one has bunion, one has a recent ankle replacement. These boots are comfortable on both. I have not yet worn them in extreme cold or slushy conditions but will update this review after my upcoming trip to Churchill, Manitoba, where temperatures fall well below zero everyday.Update: I wore these boots for a week in northern Manitoba and they functioned beautifully for me. With toe warmers and wooly socks, my feet were warm during up to 2 hours outdoors in -25 to -8 F temperatures. The traction was very good on hard, slippery surfaces. I never tested them for waterproofness since nothing ever reached melting temperature. The boots were not uncomfortable and never seemed heavy to me. The zippers functioned just fine, I was able to tuck fleece-lined pants into the boot tops. These will be 'light-use' boots for me, but I am very pleased with their performance - especially at the price point. This is my second pair of these. I've had the first pair for 4 years and worn them daily in the winter back and forth from work at a ski mountain. Hike up the mountain about once a month with them and wear them around everywhere when I'm off work. The tread is nearly as good as the day I got them, minimal wear where I've worn removable ice cleats on them. Pretty waterproof unless you're in a wet snow or puddles of water for more than a half hour or so. Enough insulation that dry snow doesn't melt on them or seep in at all. Just added snoseal this winter, and now they're bombproof. I have been rough enough on them that I tore the stitching out on one toe at the end of last winter (3 years in), and the zipper on one lost some teeth this year (4 years in). I had a shoe repair shop restitch the toe, and now I just lace up the boot with the broken zipper instead. Easy enough fixes, but they're such comfy boots to work and hike around in that I ordered the second pair in case these ever get discontinued. Highly recommend.I wear a size 11 in all my boots, but these were way too small for a size 11 so I had to send them back unfortunately. ☹️The boots would have been perfect if they fit.To my surprise my feet stayed warm and dry the entire four days I just spent in the snow (powder, slush and ice) For that I was extremely pleased! I read lots of reviews because I debated which size to order since I'm a 7.5-8 and I either had to go up or down. I went with the 39 (8-8.5) and it fit just like an 8. I still wore nice thick socks cause I like my shoes snug. My only complaint is the cushioning inside could have been more comfortable. I have tried on severa pairs in various retail stores that had memory foam type inserts that covered the whole toe area. I know I could maybe change out inserts but I've never had good luck getting a comfortable fit after. Today my toes feel sore but I literally wore these 20 hours a day for four days so it could be much worse! I plan to keep these as my only snow shoes for many years. They seem to be good quality and feel like they should hold up well. These are too large for me (I am a solid 8.5 but ordered a 40 based on reviews that said this boot runs small. I think the 39 would have fit better), but I decided to keep these because the sale price was too good to return them. I bought some inexpensive UGG size 9 shearling wool insoles to fill in the extra space, they fit well now, and I think these will be toasty warm when I finally get to use them this winter! The shearling in the boot is only on the shaft and tongue portion. The sole seems pretty solid. Haven't been on ice yet to know how the grip is. The side zippers are tight, but they've already loosened up since I've been wearing them around my house. And the laces that came on my black pair are red, not gray as pictured. I was looking specifically for a black waterproof snow boot with a side zipper and shearling lining, so hopefully this one will work out with the inserts. They do look cute with skinny jeans.I tried two other types of Pajar Boots before this pair. I returned one pair and sold another as they did not fit as I expected. These boots feel wonderful, including the foot bed area. Pajar has two different size charts, one for Heritage and one for Sport, so be aware when you order any Pajar footwear. I purchased the 40 EU/9-9.5 M US, these boots fit like a size 9 pair of Keen Women's Brighton Slip On Waterproof Winter Shoe. They are a snug fit but perfect for me. The fit was as I expected after reading reviews but would say that if you wear a 91/2 this boot would probably be too small for you. I would say this boot runs more to 8 1/2 -9. If you have a wide foot they might also not be the boot for you either. I can wear thin or mid thick socks with the boots. The zipper is a bit stiff at the moment so hopefully it will be easier with more use. The colour is perfect, I ordered the chocolate and the colour is accurate, like that the fleece at the top is also Brown so wont show dirt etc. When walking it feels like you are wearing sneakers. Will update once I have done some walks in wet weather.I purchased these boots to wear on nicer days in the winter when it ISN'T sub zero temperatures and blizzarding in Ohio and Maine. I wear the Pajar Greenland boot for deep snow, freezing cold and ice. I wear a size 7 so I ordered a size 8-81/2 for the Alina boot because from experience, I know Pajars run a little narrow. I loved these boots as soon as I put them on. The size I ordered leaves room to wear medium weight smartwool socks and an arch support for extra squish. These shoes are comfortable and of good quality, good traction, waterproof and pretty warm. Pajars would be perfect if they made the toe box a little wider like SORELS or KEENS. I have a problem with Pajars scrunching my toes a little on my right foot due to the narrowness but with a little time they stretch. Overall, I think these boots are pretty awesome and I got them half off !!!Had to return I'm afraid!Update to the paragraph below: Replaced the original order with a size up from my usual. Tested them out in a snow storm this week over my 40 minute walks to and from work and, as hoped, the traction was good (high priority for me), and my feet stayed toasty warm. They are quite sturdy - in fact so much so the reduced "give" caused a blister at the back of my foot. Not unusual for new footwear. They are not a lightweight boot - if that is a priority for you, don't get these. (I don't mind the extra workout for my legs.) Upped my score to 4 stars.Boot seems really nice and well constructed, but I have to return as it's too small. Some customers had reported this; however, I have a narrow foot, and find that often when people have to size up, it's because the fit is too narrow, so that doesn't apply to me. However, my toes are squished up at the top on this pair. Will update when I replace them and test them out in the Alberta snow and cold.Just received my boots today and they're great so far! I haven't had a chance to wear them in cold or snow yet, being that it's June, but I look forward to trying them out. I read all the other reviews and the majority of people complained that the boots fit small so I decided to play it safe and ordered a size up from my usual. I think I probably could have gone with my usual size though because the are a tad big. Not huge, I'll still be able to wear them but probably will put an extra pair of socks on when I do, which for winter boots actually isn't a bad idea anyway. The extra space will probably be a good thing. I usually wear a 9 and I ordered a 10. The fluffy lining is nice and soft, they seem like they will be comfortable boots. Plus I got a killer deal on them as they were on sale for only $26! I guess the only complaint I might have at this point is that the zipper is pretty stiff. It's a little hard to zip and unzip the boots, but they are brand new so I'm hoping it'll loosen up a bit with some use. This is second Pajar boots I’ve got this year. First one it cracked along the sole and my husband bought me those ones to replace. This is less than a month of wearing them. I contacted pajar, but they refused to exchange, called Amazon, they cold me they will issue me a refund, but I never got a shipping label from them or anything else. Will never buy Pajar again!
